Who we are

Thalia Monday Adult Company Members Thalia Theatre Company is an educational, arts related learning provider. We operate a two day per week ‘arts’ related learning ‘day’ opportunity in Norwich, Norfolk for disabled people with physical and sensory impairments and learning difficulties in particular but not exclusively. Our ‘day’ opportunity is open to anyone over the age of 19 years (no upper age limit). We work together on Mondays and Wednesdays between 9.30a.m. and 2.30p.m. We have a group who meet during the evening in Norwich called the Thalia Collective. This group is for anyone aged over 16 years. Thalia currently has 30 company members from across Norfolk.

Thalia is now expanding into Dereham and Gt. Yarmouth!

Thalia Theatre Company was set up in September 2004. We are a Registered Charity and a member of the Norfolk Social Enterprise Network.

Who are the staff at Thalia Theatre Company?

Molly Rose-Hutchinson is the founder and Artistic Director of the company. Molly is a very experienced, qualified Special Educational Needs Teacher, Adult Education Tutor, a Community Theatre & Dance Practitioner and has a Masters Degree in Theatre & Development from the University of East Anglia. Molly is supported by a staff team of exceptional talent who have been trained in Thalia methodology and experienced in working with disabled people and those with complex needs. Everyone on the staff team at Thalia has been Enhanced CRB checked and hold current First Aid Certificates and undergo regular training.

How do I join?

You can make an application to the company at any time by contacting Molly Rose-Hutchinson the Artistic Director (See Contact Us page). You can make an application yourself, or you may need to be referred by a Social Worker, or request support to make an application. There is a daily charge for our service that is currently £35 per day (increases to £36.75 from April 09). This is paid privately, via a Direct Payment or an Individual Budget. Your Social Worker can make an application for a Direct Payment on your behalf.

Thalia Theatre Company is a very successful company and is an approved Social Services provider. We are well known throughout the Eastern region as a professional, high achieving organisation that operates best practice and offers rich learning experiences. We take our ‘Duty of Care’ to our company members very seriously and work towards a just and equal society where everyone’s talents and skills are recognised.
